As a Clinical Psychologist I am able to offer a full spectrum of services to my clients. From testing through to therapies for depression, anxiety, phobias, eating disorders, post traumatic stress, personality disorders and stress management.
However, where I have concentrated my training and specialization, and the areas I most enjoy to work in, are
- Couples therapy
- Individuals struggling with trauma
I believe in providing an affordable service for clients and aim to ensure that finances do not prevent someone from being able to access help and support when needed. Our professional body, the Australian Psychological Society (APS), recommends $246 per 50 minute session, however our fees are lower than this.
You may be eligible for a Medicare Rebate for sessions if your GP has referred you on a Mental Health Care Plan. If you are referred by a Psychiatrist or Pediatrician you will also receive a Medicare Rebate. If your GP believes you are eligible for a Mental Health Plan you can receive a Medicare Rebate for up to 10 psychology sessions per calendar year. Your initial referral enables you to have 5 – 6 appointments rebated. I will then suggest you see the GP for a review and referral for a further 5 – 4 sessions, if further appointments are needed. A brief progress report must be provided to your referring GP (by me) for you to be able to obtain additional sessions
Private Health Insurance Rebates
Depending on your private health scheme, you may be eligible for a rebate under Private Health Insurance (not to be used in addition to Medicare). If you are using Private Health Insurance the rebate amount will depend on your particular fund.
I am a not a bulk billing practice.
$200 per appointment of 50 to 60 minutes
Medicare Rebate: $124.50 If you have a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP
Assessments, Letters and Reports
For letters and reports I charge $200.00 per hours plus GST of 10% (Total hourly cost $198.00). These are charged in 15 minute intervals. These usually do not qualify for a Medicare rebate
Payment on the day is required. We accept cash, EFTPOS or credit cards. You are also able to have your rebate paid into your account straight away which means no waiting in queues at Medicare.
If you have any concerns about finances, please discuss this with me before our session.
Should you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we respectfully request 24 hours’ notice. Whilst we understand life can be unpredictable, cancellation at late notice means we are unable to offer this appointment to another client who may be on a cancellation or waiting list for an appointment.
Failure to reschedule or cancelling your appointment within 24 hours may result in you paying for the full consultation fee.
We certainly understand that you may not be able to keep an appointment due to sudden illness or an unexpected personal emergency. If this does happen to you, please contact us as soon as possible to let us know.
Remember a late cancelled appointment is a loss to:
- You, as your therapy progress is delayed
- The client who has been waiting to see the psychologist, sometimes urgently
- The psychologist who spent time preparing for your session
